On January 28, 2021, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) adopted a 60 day extended deadline for filing additional documents in response to requests from the USCIS (https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-extends-flexibility-for-responding-to-agency-requests-3). This extension pertains to documents and decisions dated between March 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021, inclusive. This extension grants applicants, petitioners, and requestors an additional 60 days from the due date to provide information for the following USCIS requests:
- Requests for Evidence
- Continuations to Request Evidence (N-14)
- Notices of Intent to Deny
- Notices of Intent to Revoke
- Notices of Intent to Rescind
- Notices of Intent to Terminate regional centers
- Motions to Reopen an N-400 Pursuant to 8 CFR 335.5, Receipt of Derogatory Information After Grant
- Filing date requirements for Form N-336, Request for a Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization Proceedings (Under Section 336 of the INA)
- Filing date requirements for Form I-290B, Notice of Appeal or Motion
This was in response to the coronavirus pandemic and is an extension of the flexible schedules announced in March of 2020.
